This is about 4 blocks from the hotel - in the background is the ruinous city walls of the commune of Roma or SPQR (what ever that translates as - Rome to me).  They were pretty interesting - traditional Roman brick about 2 inches high and 8 inches long - almost like a plate and with a lot of mortar.
