I didn't find this until we had almost left the Forum - know what it is?  Neither did I except for a photo in the guidebook -this is the temple to Julius Gaius Ceaser and is the site were his body was burned after the Senators killed him with their knives.  The first deification of a living Roman - but not the last till Justinian officially turned the Empire Christian 400 years later
