This is lap 2. I am standing on the stone wall at the edge of the Presidio on Lyon street. This is across from Liverpool Lil's restaurant and right above the "feed zone" where the racers pick up food and drinks - they are expected to burn over 5000 calories during the 4/5 hour race an it is important to stay energized. Dr. Eric Heiden was doing some race commentary and he noted that if you ever fall behind on your eating and hydration, you cannot catch back up.
