The weather was pretty nice - sunny but chilly and really, really windy. the word I got was that there were gusts at 40 mph. this is one of the main, if not the main, Team in Training centuries for the entire country - there were several thousands of them. Joan and her friend (who are great friends of Madeline Eno - who grew up the street from me !!) Karen and I were planning to ride pretty much together - we got separated immediately in the hordes and I ended up riding alone. I was intending to ride the 72 mile ride which is the pure loop around the lake. I accidentally followed all the Team riders out to Truckee however and did the 100 miles - right about 7 hours. It was pretty hard to be out there by myself in the wind coming back from Truckee - there were times I had the hammer down and was deep in the drops AND going down hill and only making 13 mph!! there were 3' waves coming into the beach at the north end of the lake at Incline so we had a nice headwind coming down the east side of the lake down to South Lake. But despite (because?) of the weather, I had a great, great time and really want to do the ride again next year
