My computer work area is off the main hallway to the back of the house and I am planning on it having a wall to wall birch plywood surface. To make it sufficiently stiff, I am going to reinforce it with an aluminum spine. Echoing the kitchen island, I hand milled this weekend a T-bar extrusion. Deburred and polished but it still needs to have the machine oil fully cleaned off and mounting holes drilled (though I need the fasteners too – so I will get them first and then measure).
