A few weeks late, but some photos of winter storm damage. Today (3/13/2016) is now fully spring. I was in NYC late last week and it was 81 degrees on Thursday down there AND in Carlisle. Things are not kicking into gear in terms of spring growth – but you can see it out on the horizon.
I am going over to my property today and I am going to spread around some wild flower seeds from American Meadows (a special mix of native wild flowers – both annual and perennials designed for New England). It may not work since I am just going to be doing it the natural way (tossing things around by hand) and the final site landscape work has not been done – but it shouldn’t take long either.

- The old barn just across the property line at my parent’s house. It was a chicken processing poultry operation from the Larsen’s around 1900 and taken over by the Macrae family via Inga Larsen I believe

- A few weeks ago, inspecting storm damage to trees with ice still on the pond – which has now gone out permanently

- The garage at the Old Koford House (originally the ‘Old Farrar Place’) was rebuilt this past fall and winter. The above ground propane tanks were replaced by a single large buried tank.

- Downed trees in the upper field. The old cart path (on the left) is completely blocked by a fallen maple tree

- This maple tree is really big. The fallen bits are a foot to foot-and-a-half in diameter. Firewood!
